From raw sheepskin to finished product, Bowron has been tanning and crafting sheepskins in Christchurch for over 145yrs. We supply premium sheepskins to retailers, manufacturers and customers throughout New Zealand and around the world.

PADDLES

Gentle Agitation: The slow-moving paddles gently lift and roll the water-soaked sheepskins through the solution, ensuring an even wash while protecting the wool and leather from damage.

TOGGLE UNIT

Toggle Drying: Damp sheepskins are stretched onto large frames using clips called toggles, then dried with controlled circulating air. This helps the skins dry evenly while keeping their shape.

PIN WHEEL COMBER

The sheepskin wool is gently combed using rotating pins to separate and straighten the fibres, removing tangles and leaving the fleece soft and fluffy.
